”About Me” Hi, my name is Kurt and I’m an interior designer, educator and writer.
I am originally from Johannesburg, South Africa and I’ve been living in Milan Italy for the last 17 years. I’ve worked as an interior designer for close to 15 years and as an educator for more than ten, teaching in different design universities and colleges here in Milan.
What I’ll be teaching here on BACKSTUDIO is Autocad and Interior Project Design.

As designers I feel we need to be listeners, comforters, planners and sometimes even painters. A colleague once told me, “at some point in the project, someone always cries.” This lets you understand that when we work on a space, we are working with people who will be inhabiting that space for years to come. So our decisions have consequences and we must be conscious of this fact. So whether it's Autocad or Interior Project Design, I will try to put you in the best position to make those decisions in a professional, competent and creative way. I am willing to share my knowledge with you and put you on the best footing moving forward in your chosen career.
